Discovery Aviation Academy is one of the first aviation schools in Canada to be part of a large air operator: Discovery Air. This unique advantage of our flight academy allows us to give our students exposure to real-world aviation and connect graduation to a pilot career. Within the Discovery Air network there are a number of prominent aviation companies, including Discovery Air Fire Services, Great Slave Helicopters, Air Tindi, Discovery Air Innovations, Discovery Air Technical Services, Discovery Mining, and Discovery Air Defence Services.

Our modern, state-of-the-art flight training facility was constructed in 2010. The building has ample classroom and office space, as well as a 13,000 square-foot hangar floor. Our fleet of aircraft includes the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Cessna 337 Skymaster, and Rockwell 500 Aero Commander.

For those wishing to enhance their flight training with a post-secondary education, we have partnered with Cambrian College to allow students in their Business Fundamentals program an opportunity to obtain commercial flight training. With these two programs combined, students will have the academic foundation and flight skills needed for a successful career in aviation.
